~Welcome to Stormcrow's Ill News~

~each page has a dedicated news feed and links to more information~

As the saying goes: Hope for the best, plan for the worst. Being informed is the first step to being prepared.

Disasters large and small can wreak havoc on our community or household, sometimes unexpectedly, but often with enough notice that we can take steps to mitigate their impacts.

We live on the edge of catastrophe, increasingly so given rising population rates, climate change, infrastructure decay and just-in-time economic models. While the Butterfly Effect sheds light on just how random the development of life- and world-changing events can be, awareness of those 'butterflies' can shape our planning choices well in advance of potential trouble.

Stormcrow's Ill News was created with the intent to aggregate news and information sources relating to emergencies and emergency preparedness. The focus is on the Pacific Northwest (because that's where I live), with a background of national and global information(butterflies).

This site is a work in progress, with news feeds and preparedness links being added on a regular basis. Feel free to use the contact form to suggest helpful additions.

"Data! Data! Data!" he cried impatiently. "I can't make bricks without clay."
